JERAMI Journal, formerly known as Journal of Agronomy Indonesia, has been published since January 2008 as an official scientific journal of the Indonesian Society of Agronomy (Perhimpunan Agronomi Indonesia/PERAGI) Regional Chapter of West Sumatra. The journal was established as a medium for disseminating scientific findings in agricultural sciences, particularly agronomy, and published manuscripts in both Indonesian and English. In its early publication period, the journal was published three times a year, in January, May, and September. However, the publication was discontinued for several years.
In 2018, the journal resumed publication under the name JERAMI: Indonesian Journal of Crop Science (JIJCS) and has since been managed by the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Andalas. The journal covers several areas related to crop science, including agronomy, plant physiology, seed science, plant breeding, crop production systems and management, plant modeling, agroclimatology, environmental soil science, and pest and disease management.
After its reactivation, the journal was initially published twice a year, in February and August. Beginning in 2026, JERAMI: Indonesian Journal of Crop Science publishes three issues annually, in April, August, and December. This change reflects the journal’s effort to maintain regular publication and support the timely dissemination of manuscripts that have completed the editorial and peer-review processes.
